Mags Powell, Chief Executive of Stable Life at Ashkirk, told us:
We are extremely grateful for the donation from the George Crawford Legacy Trust. It costs around £60 a week to provide support to a vulnerable young person so having this regular monthly payment can help contribute to these costs or if we need to look at replacing riding equipment or purchasing materials to help deliver our Equine Assisted sessions we can also use the contribution to cover these costs. Overall the contribution will help some of the Border’s most vulnerable young people to:
- Grow in confidence and self esteem
- Re-engage positively with their schools and communities
- Develop and sustain healthier relationships
- Realise their potential for the future
- Increase positive behaviour and personal responsibility
- Enjoy a greater sense of wellbeing
- Learn transferable life skills
- Be motivated to try new things
