In October/November 2020, I will be volunteering in Fiji! On this trip I will be coaching all kinds of sports, especially netball, helping to educate people on physical and mental health, teaching employability skills and setting up workshops for youngsters. I’ll also be working in Fijian Kindergartens and schools. For the majority of my trip, I’ll be living with a Fijian family.

I’ve been coaching netball at Hawick High School for almost 4 years and in that time, I was involved in the coaching of the 2017 s1 team to the finals of the bronze Scottish Schools Cup Final where they won.

I enjoy coaching and seeing the players learning and improving every session and I can’t wait to do this daily whilst I’m in Fiji.

In order to participate in this once in a lifetime experience, I must fundraise to help pay for it (and around 50% of the money raised goes straight to the charity).

I have been fundraising by making birthday cakes and cupcakes for the past few months and already have orders for this year!

After such a generous donation from the George Crawford Legacy Trust, I am well on my way with my fundraising. I am so grateful for their help and cannot wait for my time in Fiji.
