We as a family have been attending and competing at Hendersyde over many years but not even near the 20 years that the Agnew family have been putting all their energy and passion behind the event for us all to enjoy.

Thursday 25th July saw the National Under 18 Eventing Championship kick off for 2019 at Frickley Park, Doncaster. This takes the form of eight teams, Scotland being one of them, with eight to ten competitors per team competing over four days.

The Rugby Match in memory of George and to raise funds for the Trust was held at Earlston Rugby Club ground, and almost as soon as it got underway so did the rain, but that did not dampen the spirits of the players who had taken to the field in a fast and furious game of rugby.

Sunday 12th May 2019 saw the Under 18’s 100 class at Floors Horse Trials carry the George Crawford Legacy Trust heading. The Duchess of Roxburgh and members of her team had reached out to us to offer the chance of raising the profile of the charity by letting us be the title name of the aforementioned class.

This sponsored walk was in memory of George and another member of Teviotdale Young Farmers’ Club Zac.

On the first day of the Charity Cycle Run from Melrose to Harper Adam University, having cycled down through Wooler, lunched at Powburn, and continued down through Rothbury and Scots Gap, the cyclists headed for Belsay Horse Trials where they had been invited to call in on the passing as the named charity for the event that year was to be the George Crawford Legacy Trust.

There was such a good response to the invitation sent out by Mary & Cameron for support in the launching of this fund in George’s memory that the venue had to be changed from Cameron & Mary’s home and move next door to brother Michael and sister-in-law Debbie’s home as there was a bit more
